2024 Rates
Off-Peak rates for the Main Lodge start at R675 pppn (adults) and R525 pppn (children 2-12yrs). Peak rates are available upon request.
Please Note: these rates apply to the Main Lodge only and require a minimum of a 6-sleeper per night.
River House, Hideaway, Kingfisher, Rapids:
Rates are specific to each accommodation unit and do differ depending on the amount of adults and children, as well as the season.

Deposits
We require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.
Cancellation
A 10% fee will be levied for cancellations on all confirmed bookings.
If you cancel your booking within 1 month of your stay, your 50% deposit is not refunded.
If you cancel your booking within 7 days of your date of arrival, there is no refund.
What you need to know
There is no need to check in, you can drive straight to your cottage and make yourself at home! We will come over and say hi once you have settled in.
Tugela River Lodge runs completely off solar, so the following items cannot be plugged in:
- Hairdryers, hair straighteners
- Mobile Air conditioners, electric heaters
- Electric Kettles, pressure cookers, toasted sandwich machines
- External car fridges or battery packs or personal inverters
- Espresso machines, coffee machines
- Large power-drawing sounds systems
- Compressors etc etc
Basically anything that uses heat or cooling or requires lots of power. You may charge cellphones and laptops etc and we recommend doing this during the day if possible. If you are unsure please ask and rather don’t plug it in as this can damage our precious batteries.
We suggest bringing the following items to make your stay more enjoyable:
Swimming towels, board games, fishing rods, canoes, tubes, books, walking shoes, sunscreen and binoculars. Headtorches are very useful when braaing.
There is a Superspar and Tops in Winterton – 22km away.
Wood is available at R50 per bundle from Bheki. He will clean the fireplace/braai in the mornings.
If you would like to tip the staff we ask that you tip them at the end of your stay and individually. The amount is up to you and is warmly appreciated.
